All Terrain Internships

Event marketing seems to be an area where a lot of internships end up being more like scams than internships. The reason is that event marketing internships are in high demand, so shady companies use ads for them to catch lots of candidates. There’s a reason that these types of internships are in high demand, and we think we’ve found some that exemplify the positive qualities of internships in event and experiential marketing. They’re with All Terrain, a Chicago-based event marketing firm. We first found out about them through Twitter, and did some more research to see what they’re all about. They’ve worked with top clients to do some pretty cool promotions. They even provide case studies on their website, which is a great thing to look for if you’re trying to determine the legitimacy of a company. There’s no better way to get a feel for a company than to take a look at the work that they’ve done and whom they’ve done it with.

Anyone, Anywhere

“All Terrain creates brand experiences and delivers them to the people where they live, breathe and buy.” That’s why “Anyone, Anywhere” is All Terrain’s tagline. It is not, however, how All Terrain approaches recruiting interns (which is a good thing). They work with an impressive client list of companies in industries that include “household brands, entertainment and nightlife, professional sports, automotive, and beverage brands,” so they need the best. They recently posted an ad on Craigslist that says that they are looking to hire 3 “highly-motivated, organized, creative PR Interns” in the next few weeks. The internships include real work and a close relationship with Director of PR; however, they are unpaid, which is a bummer. The internships require a 15-20 hour per week commitment for 3 months, and you have to be able to get to their office in Chicago. The posting on Craigslist does a good job of outlining the internships, so go check it out, and if you want to apply, you should send a cover letter, resume, and 2 writing samples to public.relations@allterrain.net.
