We’ve written about quite a few advertising jobs on One Day, One Job, so we thought we’d start off the second week of One Day, One Internship with what is clearly a popular genre. We’ve had our eye on archer>malmo for a while. They’re a full service marketing and advertising agency located in Memphis, TN, and they’ve got internships. Their web site is really simple and only has a few pages, but we love their home page. It revolves through their portfolio and includes one sentence explanations of the campaigns as they are shown - it’s both fun and educational to just sit and watch for a while. archer>malmo was also named the 17th best small company to work for by the Great Place to Work Institute, so we know they’re going to treat you right (and they have a video to prove it, but you’ll have to read on to get the link).
Currently, the internships section on archer>malmo’s jobs page consists of one sentence: “Interested in an internship? Send your resume to internships@archermalmo.com.” Lucky for you, we started our research on archer>malmo a few months ago. We have a link to their internships@archermalmo.com.” Lucky for you, we started our research on archer>malmo a few months ago. We have a link to their old internships page, which may not have up to date opportunities, but it’s loaded with information. Remember, this page isn’t linked to anymore, so we can’t ensure that the information is still accurate, but it should be helpful.
The old page says that archer>malmo offers an internship program that is “designed to expose young talent to each facet of communciations—public relations, advertising, interactive, direct marketing (and all the areas in between).” The Am I Qualifed? Page, on the other hand, mentions specific disciplines of interest that include: account service, broadcast production, creative-copywriting/art direction/illustration/design, database production, media, print production/traffic, proofreading, web application testing, and web support. That leaves us a little confused of what archer>malmo’s specific internship opportunities are/were, but they sound pretty good either way. If you’re into advertising and marketing, this is definitely the place to be, whether or not they allow you to focus your internship experience. And about that video. It’s on their old internships page, it’s called Internment, and it appears to be produced by an Archer>Malmo intern class from a few years ago. It’s pretty entertaining, and quite obviously a joke (in case you’re really dense). We think that any company that puts a video like this on their website (even if it’s hidden now) has to be pretty cool to work for.
