What perfect timing! I happen to be in Montreal during the Rogers Cup, and I’m writing about the ATP and WTA Tennis Tours. Ok, so I’m not actually going to see any tennis matches, but the highlights have been all over the tv news here. To be honest, I’m not a huge fan of tennis, but I still think it would be pretty cool to intern for the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) or WTA (Women’s Tennis Association). They’re both looking for Fall interns, and they won’t make you do the tennis version of getting the coffee – be a ball boy or girl.
The ATP and WTA Tennis Tours are yet two more additions to the list of pro sports leagues that use TeamWork Online to post jobs and internships. The ATP and WTA share an internships site, which is nice for those who are generally interested in the sport of tennis. There are currently three Fall internships posted. Two are for the ATP – Assistant to the Tournament Manager – Fall 2008 Internship – SAP Open and Sales & Marketing Internship – Fall 2008 – SAP Open and located in San Jose, CA. The third internship is with the WTA and is a Box Office Internship (Fall 2008) – Sony Ericsson Open/IMG Tickets Miami in Miami, FL. There’s also an option to sign up for notification of future internships with the WTA and ATP, so you can use that to keep up to date on any Fall internships that they add, or Spring or Summer internships for next year. The descriptions on the site are quite detailed, and applying online should be easy, so head over and check out some great tennis internships.
