There are some things in life that we want not because we actually want them, but because they are signs of having achieved something. Nobody actually wants a mortgage, but you’ll certainly feel like you’ve achieved something when you have one. Financial advisors fall into the same category. Paying someone to manage your money seems a little backward, but it’s a problem you want to have. And when you do have that “problem,” you want to have a financial advisor who is well equipped to help you make the best decisions for your future. Blueleaf is a Cambridge, MA based company that provides super simple software that helps financial advisors more easily communicate information to their clients. Blueleaf “simplifies tracking all your savings and long-term financial goals while making everything you own transparent, understandable, and controllable.”

Turn Over a New Leaf

Blueleaf appears to be a huge win for financial advisors. Not only does it do a lot heavy lifting with financial data (it sounds similar to what ByAllAccounts does in terms of aggregating information), but it also has a beautiful interface. That may not seem important, but it impresses clients and it makes explaining things to them much easier. I obviously don’t know a ton about what it’s like to be a financial advisor, but I have to imagine that software like this can save time and allow advisors to grow their businesses by serving more clients. It should also help them make better decisions with their clients. If you’re excited by what Blueleaf is doing, take a look at their Internships page. Right now they’re looking for interns in UX / Product Management and Marketing. I also expect that they’d be happy to hear from you if you have Software/Web Development skills, but that’s just a guess. They don’t seem to mention whether the positions are paid or not.
