“Many Burton employees will snag freshies first thing in the morning before coming in to work during the winter.” Being non “riders,” we’re don’t know a whole lot about snowboarding, but we can be pretty sure that interns at Burton’s Burlington, VT office probably won’t have this luxury. It’s not that Burton doesn’t care about their interns, it’s just that “freshies” are kind of hard to snag in the heat of the summer. That’s ok, though, because Vermont is beautiful in the Summer and offers plenty of other outdoor opportunities for when you’re not helping Burton at the world’s first snowboard factory.
Burton’s business is pretty simple. They strive to make the best snowboarding equipment in the world. They’re a company for boarders by boarders, so if you’re like me and have never snowboarded before, these internships probably won’t be good fits for you. They’re offering internships in Engineering, Marketing, Manufacturing Digital Print, Product Development - so there are a lot of topics covered. You can find the full postings by clicking the Burlington, VT link on their Careers page. According to the postings, they minimum weekly hours are 15-20, but it seems like full-timers are welcome. The internships can be done for credit, but are unpaid - at least that’s what the Burton Jobs FAQ says (we’d link to it, but their site is a little funky). There’s actually a lot of great information on Burton’s Careers site, but since we can’t link to it properly, it’s best that you browse the site a bit yourself.
Burton looks like a really fun company to work for, and I can personally vouch for the beautiful summers in Vermont. Give them a good look.
