End of the Year Revisiting Non-Profits Part 1 Internships

Posted by Willy Franzen on Saturday, December 27, 2008

I’m now posting from a tropical island trying to get rid of a cold. You don’t have to feel sorry for me. Since it’s Saturday, we’re continuing our end of the year recap by revisiting non-profit internships. Here are links to Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4 of our end of the year recap of for-profit internships.

Maria Mitchell Association: If you want to spend a summer interning in Nantucket, this is the place to do it. They haven’t posted information about their 2009 Summer Internships yet, but they should be doing so in the next few months.

New York Botanical Garden: It doesn’t look like they’re hiring interns right now.

Creative Commons: Nothing at Creative Commons right now.

National Trust for Historic Preservation: NTHP still has Fall internships posted. They were all focused on Web 2.0/New Media, which is cool. Keep an eye out for new postings soon.

Brookings Institution: Brooking has one Spring internship post on their site in Governance Studies, but we imagine there should be a lot more coming soon.

U.S. Olympic Committee: The USOC has internships year round, but they don’t offer much information on them. You’ll have to contact them to find out more.

American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research: AEI has a ton of Spring and Summer internships posted right now.

National Wildlife Federation: NWF doesn’t seem to have any internships posted right now.

United States Golf Association: Right now the only opportunities that are available are at local golf associations through the P.J. Boatwright, Jr. Internships in Golf Administration.

Easter Seals: Internships with Easter Seals are at local offices, so you should use the Google trick that we wrote about in the original post to find them.

Nonprofit Finance Fund: There don’t appear to be any internships posted on the Nonprofit Finance Fund’s Jobs page.

High Desert Museum: There are a number of Spring and Summer internships available at the High Desert Museum. They include Living History Interpreter, Wildlife Programs Intern, Wildlife Exhibits Intern, and Youth Programs Research Assistant.

Scojo Foundation: Scojo has changed its name to VisionSpring, and their new web site doesn’t seem to have a Jobs or Internships page.

Wilderness Inquiry: Wilderness Inquiry has both Spring and Summer internships available right now.

PBS: There are a ton of Spring internships posted on the PBS Jobs page right now.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum: The deadline for Spring internships is January 9th, and for Summer internships it’s April 10th. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has all kinds of internships available during both sessions.

Southface: There aren’t specific internships posted on Southface’s site, but they have an internship program that they seem to accept applications for at any time.

More non-profits tomorrow!
