End of the Year Revisiting Part 3 Internships

Posted by Willy Franzen on Wednesday, December 24, 2008

Merry Christmas Eve! We’re going to continue revisiting companies that we’ve featured in the past today, but tomorrow we’ll take a break for a special Christmas themed post. In case you missed them, here are links to Part 1 and Part 2 of our end of the year recap.

Amazon.com: Everyone’s favorite online retailer has a great College Recruiting site with lots of information about their internships, but they don’t actually have any opportunities posted right now.

Freeverse: We can’t seem to find any information on currently available internships with Freeverse.

Burton: A search for internships on Burton’s Jobs site turns up no results.

Iconoculture: There is one Global Research Internship available at Iconoculture’s Minneapolis headquarters.

jetBlue Airways: It doesn’t look like jetBlue is offering any internships right now.

Sun Microsystems: There are currently 38 internships posted for undergraduates on Sun’s site.

Mint: They may not be offering internships right now, but if you want to get your personal finances in order, you need to use Mint.

Thrillist: Since I moved to Chicago, I started getting their daily e-mails. They’re pretty sweet. Just like the internships in Editorial, Sales, Marketing, Design, Tech, and PR that Thrillist is currently offering.

Better World Books: They’re still the best way to make your book purchasing socially conscious, but they’re not looking for interns right now.

I Can Has Cheezburger?: U cant has Internzship. Sorry.

Party City: We still can’t find anything on Party City’s website about an internship program, even though we know it exists from other sources.

Procter & Gamble Productions: If you love soap operas, then you need to send P&G Productions an e-mail asking for more information on their internships. They don’t post opportunities on their site, but we know that they have them.

Harpo: There’s one Marketing Internship posted on Harpo’s site, but I’ll ask Oprah about internships next time that I see her at the gym (seriously, I’ve seen her there twice).

Columbia Sportswear Company: We don’t see any recent internship postings on Columbia’s site.

Green Options: Surprisingly, Green Options already appears to be recruiting for Summer interns in Marketing and Web Publishing.

Zagat: There aren’t any internships with Zagat posted right now, so you’ll have to do the restaurant reviewing on your own.

Your TV20: This local TV channel offers all kinds of internships, and they are currently recruiting for the Spring.

CNET Networks: CNET currently has 3 internships posted. They are Editorial Intern – Spring 2009, Summer 2009 Software Engineer Intern, and Production Intern.

AVP: The beach may be far away from your mind right now, but you can be sure that the AVP will be posting information about their 2009 internship program before you know it.

Ictus Initiative: I can’t seem to find any new info on internships with Ictus.

Chicago Department of Innovation & Technology: Right now, the only available internship with the City of Chicago is not with the Department of Innovation & Technology, but with the Mayor’s Office of International Relations. It still sounds cool, and I have to say I’m happy that it’s unpaid considering the city is now taxing the hell out of me. Just kidding.

MAD Magazine: Alfred E. Neuman hasn’t posted info about his 2009 Summer Internship program yet, but you can be sure that it’s coming.

Wild Waves Theme Park: Water parks don’t typically hire interns in the winter because they’re closed, but once things thaw out a little bit, they’ll be on the hunt for new interns.

Russell Investment: Since we first featured Russell, I’ve had the chance to chat with the guy who is in charge of recruiting interns. They have an awesome internship program, and they should still be recruiting for next summer.

The Landers Group: Don’t ever intern for them or any company like them. They are not real internships.

Weber-Stephen: No internships available with my favorite grill manufacturer.

Viget Labs: It doesn’t look like Viget Labs is offering internships right now.

Lime Energy: This provider of energy efficiency solutions doesn’t seem to list internships on their site, but they do offer them occasionaly. That leaves the research up to you.

CNN: All of CNN’s Internship postings are from September and for Spring internships. That means that you’re probably too late, but you can look forward to their Summer opportunities.

Captivate Network: Captivate has very detailed internship descriptions for positions in Digital Media Design, News Editing, and Marketing. They look like great internships.

I can’t wait for Christmas! Can you?
