Green Options

With the amount that the word “green” is thrown around these days, you’d think there are a lot of envious people out there. Maybe there are, but that’s not what it’s all about. It’s about being Irish. Just kidding. It’s about the environment. There’s still a ton of debate about how far we need to go to with environmentalism, but it’s hard to argue against improving efficiency and sustainability. Green Options is a blog network that is focused on the “need for innovative solutions to our (the world’s) problems.” They say that they’re “not treehuggers or hippies per se,” but that they “believe market-based solutions are the key to reaching true sustainability.” We second them on market-based solutions! It’s a great way to initiate change, because it starts with the most willing.

Green Internship Options

Green Options was launched not much more than a year ago, but it seems that they’ve hit a chord. They’re producing “authoritative content, compelling discussions, and actionable advice” for both treehuggers and the “green curious.” With the amount of attention going to all things green, it seems like a smart business to get into. That’s why you should consider interning with Green Options.

Green Options has two internships, both with multiple openings. They are in Web Publishing and Marketing. The Web Publishing internship will focus on blog promotion through social media, search engine optimization, networking, and possibly writing and editing. Interns who can work in their St. Louis, MO or San Francisco, CA offices will have preference, but there is also the possibility of working remotely over the Internet. The second internship is in Marketing for Renewzle, a site that provides solar financial analysis. These interns will be expected to research websites and web discussion focused around solar energy, document those websites, organize solar resources for Renewzle’s users, reach out to potential partners, post listings on directories, and more. Renewzle will only accept interns at their San Francisco, CA office.

Both internships are unpaid, require a 3-month or semester long commitment, and have a 10 hour per week minimum. If you’d like to apply, send a cover letter and resume to internships@greenoptions.com with “Summer Web Publishing Internship” or “Summer Renewzle Internship” in the subject line.
