I love simplicity. I also appreciate singularity. You know… One Day, One Internship. There’s so much clutter these days that it can become really hard to focus. I’m sure that you’re seeing it in your internship search, and you’re probably wondering why companies just keep layering on more complexity to what they do. If so, then you’re in good company. Mono is a Minneapolis, MN based branding, advertising, and design agency that is all about simplicity. They think that putting smart, innovative people on client projects is the key to great branding. That’s it. I like it. And so do their clients (it’s an impressive list).
I took a few minutes to browse through some of Mono’s client work, and it’s awesome. I’m not just saying that they work with really great brands (which they do), but I’m also saying that their stuff is out of this world. Just look at what they did for NBATV, Herman Miller, and PBS. Simple, but beautiful. Mono doesn’t offer a ton of information about themselves online, but they get the message across just fine. You can tell who they are by using their website. They have one of the simplest Internships pages that I’ve seen, yet it tells you everything that you need to know in 2 short paragraphs. They’re looking for writers, designers, and digital artists for the summer, and they won’t make you work for free. They want people who want to know whether the company was named after a disease or not, and they also want 10 samples of your best work along with a resume. You can get in touch with them at internship@mono-1.com. They say that they’re conducting interviews in May, so hopefully you’re not too late to apply.
