When we landed upon the MWW Group’s About Us page, we were a little bit skeptical. How can any company claim to be “one of the nation’s top 10 PR agencies?” How do you rank something like that? Who does the ranking? Can’t any company make that kind of claim? We still don’t know who dubbed the MWW Group as one of the top 10 PR agencies in the country, but we’re not going to challenge them. Why not? Because the MWW Group was behind Amazon.com’s launch of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince which resulted in 1.5 million preorders. Any PR agency that is trusted with a launch like that, and then able to exceed expectations for the most hyped book launch ever can be in our top 10 too. Maybe they can help us promote our iPod Touch giveaway – there are only a few entries so far, and it’s ridiculously easy to enter.

Getting a Start at MWW

As we looked more closely at MWW Group’s client list and case studies, we became more and more impressed. The firm has an amazing range of expertise and looks like an amazing place to start a career in public relations. Their Internships page offers a general overview of what their internship program looks like, and from what we can tell, it looks great. You can search for specific internships through MWW Group’s job search, which is quite simple to use. All you need to do is run a search for all jobs and then browse the listings for anything with “Intern” in the title.

Right now there are six internships listed on the MWW Group’s Jobs site. Many of these are described as Fall internships, so it’s unclear whether they are still hiring for these positions. At MMW Group’s headquarters in East Rutherford, NJ they are looking for interns in Public Relations – Dialogue Media, Creative Services – Web Development, Public Relations, Information Technology (IT), and Human Resources (HR). There is also a Public Relations internship in New York City. All of these internships are paid, and you can apply for these internships online directly from the postings that we just linked to.

MWW GROUP ASKS AMERICA: “WHAT CHANGE ARE YOU READY FOR IN THE FIRST 100 DAYS?”

Asks the Nation for “100 Words for 100 Days”

Most Compelling Organizational Entry Wins Pro Bono PR Support While Most Compelling Individual Wins Paid Internship

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – January 15, 2009 – MWW Group (www.mww.com), one of the nation’s top ten public relations firms, today launched a national initiative asking America, “What Change Are You Ready For in the First 100 Days?” MWW Group is searching for individuals and organizations to provide “100 Words for 100 Days,” defined as a written or spoken description of a positive change that can be effected within the first 100 days of the Obama administration. The winning organization will earn three full months of PR support from MWW Group to help implement that change. The winning individual will earn a paid internship.

This program is timed to coincide with the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States. Written and video submissions will be gathered at http://www.mww.com/change. The winning organization and individual will be chosen within 30 days of Obama’s inauguration. The PR support and internship will begin thereafter.

“Every President since Franklin Delano Roosevelt has been measured by his accomplishments during the first 100 days in office. The inauguration of a new U.S. President ushers in a period of hope and opportunity – and a time for all of us, regardless of party affiliation, to think about how we can help change our nation for the better,” said Michael W. Kempner, president and CEO of MWW Group. “The purpose of this initiative is to challenge America to think about how we can all make a difference. To do our own small part, we’re offering our services, free of charge, to help further the effort to enact positive change. And to help teach the skills of communication to further change America for the better.”

MWW Group will help to advance causes that are identified by both an organization and an individual. For the winning organization, MWW Group will provide public relations services for three months, worth $30,000, in the effort to achieve the designated goal. The selected individual will be awarded a $5,000 paid internship at any of MWW Group’s ten offices. Over the course of the three-month internship program, the individual will be trained to learn PR skills that can be applied toward helping to achieve change.
