I hate gossip mags. I really do, but I know that there are a ton of you out there who love them – whether you’re willing to admit it publicly or not. You’re fascinated by the sordid details of other people’s lives, and you can’t get enough. If you’re from the New York area, you’re probably familiar with The New York Post’s Page Six (the gossip page) and Page Six Magazine. Page Six Magazine is full of gossip, but it also covers much more pleasant things like Fashion & Beauty, Lifestyle, and, my favorite, Food. Page Six Magazine is currently looking for some interns, so if you love what they do, keep reading. And for those of you who hate gossip like me, check out internships at Space Camp – they’re out of this world! (I’m ashamed that I just typed that.)
The only place that we could find info about internships with Page Six Magazine is Ed2010, which is an awesome resource for students who want to go into journalism or publishing. The most recently posted internships are in the Editorial Department, but there are also internship listings from October in Photo and Fashion & Beauty. We can’t say if the latter two internships are still available, but they’re still worth looking into. All of these internships are unpaid, part-time, and located in New York City. The application instructions are different for each, so check out the specific descriptions to find out how to apply. Oh yeah, and if you want some intern gossip, it turns out that even paid interns can become disgruntled. DON’T DO THIS AT YOUR INTERNSHIP!
