We keep scanning Twitter for Fall internships, and we keep finding great opportunities. It really is an amazing resource, and if you still don’t believe it, check out my latest article my guest blog post on The Talent Buzz - How I Used Twitter to Get Meetings with 3 CEOs and a VP of Recruiting in 2 Weeks. Today’s Twitter find is from Brian Block, and it’s Pierpont Communications (not Pierpoint as you’ll probably want to say it), one of the largest communications firms in the Southwest.
Brian Block’s tweet says that Pierpont is looking for an extra paid (we’ve seen elsewhere that Pierpont’s internships are unpaid, but he said paid!) intern at their Houston office - a college student who is interested in PR, Civic Engagement, Marketing, and Public Affairs. We took a look at Pierpont’s Internships page, and noticed that usually Pierpont’s deadline for Fall internship applications is usually July 31st (Spring deadline is in October and Summer deadline is in February), so this is a great opportunity to get in at the last minute. Pierpont also offers internships in their Austin and Dallas offices, but we have no reason to believe that they still have opportunities for this Fall.
Pierpont offers its interns the chance to work “directly with experienced account service professionals, executing meaningful work for the firm and its clients.” Sounds good to us. They can back it up too! Pierpont Communications has been named one of the Best Places to Work by the Houston Business Journal for 5 years running. We also got really excited by Pierpont’s Flickr profile, since it has pictures of an amazing office. Then we realized that the pictures were of someone else’s office (don’t be fooled) - probably a client of Pierpont. Still, we’re sure that Pierpont has a great office and will be a fun place to intern this fall (or next spring or summer).
