My first introduction to William Shatner was watching Rescue 911. Little did I know that his body of work extended far beyond narrating a show about real life heroes. I imagine today’s children will have an equally narrow view of William Shatner’s career, as they’ll know him as “Priceline Negotiator.” (Can you read those words without hearing the corresponding tune? I can’t.) Anyway, the whole idea behind William Shatner’s newest role – besides his doing the commercials in return for stock – is that Priceline.com will negotiate the best deals on travel-related items like hotels, car rentals, and airline tickets. They also have a “name your own price” model that used to be the core of their business, but now Priceline has widened its focus to discount travel in general.
Don’t you wish you had someone like William Shatner to negotiate your internship for you too? Ok, that’d be a little weird. Sometimes learning negotiating skills is better than having someone do the dirty work for you. I think that I’m glad that the way we find jobs and internships online is different from the way that we find travel deals online. With that said, you can go to the same place for both if you’re interested in an internship in travel or e-commerce. Priceline.com has a ton of Summer internship opportunities available right now. You can find all of their listings on their Jobs and Internships page including internships in Datawarehouse, IT Engineering, IT Network Engineering, Content Management, Public Relations, and Hotels. From there, you’ll be able to apply online. All of the internships at Priceline.com are located at their headquarters in Norwalk, CT, and there’s no mention of whether they’re paid or not.
