When you think of non-profit organizations and their missions, you typically think about groups that are feeding the hungry, saving the planet, or promoting education. There are myriad non-profit organizations that aren’t dealing with such serious issues, but they still deserve your attention during your internship search. One example is the United States Golf Association. As golf’s national governing body, the USGA is constantly focused on anything that is “for the good of the game,” whether it be running tournaments, writing the rules of Golf, or supporting other golf related programs.
The USGA has all kinds of golf related internships for college students. Their main internship program is the P.J. Boatwright, Jr. Internships in Golf Administration. This offers the opportunity for college students to work in golf tournament preparations, tournament administration and post tournament business at local golf associations. You have to go through each local association to apply, but there are opportunities all across the country. The USGA also offers two internships at their office in Far Hills, NJ. One is in Media Relations and the other is at the USGA Museum Archives. Beyond that, the USGA also has an Other Internships page which only has one listing right now for a Technical Support Internship at the Metropolitan Golf Association in Elmsford, NY. This appears to be a page for local golf associations to post their internships beyond the P.J. Boatwright, Jr. Internships in Golf Administration, so keep an eye on it.
We’ll be back to normal length posts on Monday. We had a great Spring Break, and we hope you did too – even if you spent it internship hunting.
