As we told you on Monday, it’s getting sparse for Summer internships. We’re going to finish out the week with 2 more companies and 2 non-profits and then we’re going to take a 2 week break. When we come back we’ll start looking at internships for the Fall. Today we’re going to talk about Whole Foods Magazine. They have no relation to Whole Foods Market, and they’ve been publishing continuously for 30 years. They’re all about “informing natural products retailers on dietary supplements, herbs, hbc, homeopathy, and foods.”
We found out about an internship with Whole Foods Magazine on a gated job board. The listing was sparse, but it intrigued us enough to take a look at the company’s website. All the job posting said was that Whole Foods Magazine is looking for English Majors who want to “gain hands-on experience with national health/nutrition magazine. Write bylined articles, news stories, product write-ups, proofread pages, research stories, and more.” It sounds like it could be a really cool opportunity for someone who has excellent writing skills and an interest in healthy living. Unfortunately, Whole Foods Magazine doesn’t list the internship on their website; moreover, their site is sparse when it comes to content about the company.
The internship is located in South Plainfield, NJ, and you can apply by sending a cover letter and resume to editor@wfcinc.com. If this internship sounds interesting to you, we recommend that you see what kind of information you can dig up with some in-depth research. We’ve taught you how to do it in our previous posts, now get to work and see if Whole Foods Magazine is a place you’d like to spend the summer.
